Background:
Roxas was the youngest and newest member of the Organization XIII, which consist of a group of powerful 'Nobodies', who are the bodies and souls of people who have lost their hearts to the darkness. Their aim is to recover their lost hearts to be complete again. In order to do so, they sent Heartless into the various worlds for Sora to destroy and thus release the hearts inside them. These hearts would return to the "heart of all worlds", the Kingdom Hearts which is in the World That Never Was. Doing so would increase the Organization's power.
Within the organization, Roxas was known as the "Key of Destiny" and holds the power of "Light".
Roxas was formed during the brief time when Sora became a Heartless. As the time was so short, he has no memories of Sora, but he, like Sora has the power to weld a keyblade. In fact he welds two, the 'Oblivion' and the 'Oathkeeper'. It was the fact that he was a keyblade welder that caused the organization to recruit him. He became good friends with Axel but soon left the organization to find out why only he could use a keyblade.
In order to awaken and restore Sora's memories, Riku confronts and battles Roxas in the World That Never Was. Riku defeats him and takes him to DiZ (Ansem) who puts Roxas in a town created from Sora's memories, Twilight Town and with no memories of his past.
However, he starts dreaming about Sora's memories when DiZ's orders Naminé to restore Sora's memories. Axel appears and wants to stop Roxas from regaining his memories and merging with Sora. But he fails.
Yet, Roxas lives on in Sora and his traits appear from time to time, such as crying when Roxas' friends in Twilight Town don't recognise Sora and welding two keyblades.
Personality:
Towards people he doesn't know well, he might appear cold, quiet and reserved. But when he's around friends, he can be quite friendly and likable.
He likes answers and doesn't like things that can't be explained and can get very frustrated when he can't find the answers. When he's frustrated he gets into a deep thinking mode where he prefers to be alone and tends to over-analyse any small bit of information.
Memories remembered: (7%)
He remembers that he lived alone in a town called "Twilight Town". He also remembers that he had friends: a girl and two boys, but he still can't remember their names.
He remembers fighting with a blue foam and rubber baton. It's for a competition called, "Struggle Match". He won a trophy with many coloured crystals on it.
He remembers being at a meeting, surrounded by people dressed in black hooded robes. He couldn't see their faces. There are 13 of them, including him.
He was at an abandoned mansion in the woods. He was searching for "Sora"... but he saw a girl in one of the windows at the house. He remembered the latter part when a boy who seemed to be called Kimihiro told a ghost story.
He also remembers a creature with bright eyes rising from the dark ground. It is called "Heartless". He remembered this when he was talking to Kamui.
He remembers holding two swords shaped like keys in a dark and raining place...
